Values & History
Steven Chan, an architecture graduate of Georgia Tech, opened the first Tin Drum location in Atlanta, GA in 2003 with the goal of bringing people from all walks of life together. Inspired by the energy and atmosphere of the streets of Asia, Chan developed a menu packed with items that would appeal to Americans with adventurous palates in search of new and bold flavors. Since that time 11 additional locations have been opened, with seven of those franchised.
Asian and fast-casual dining are among the most popular and fastest-growing market segments in the restaurant sector today. With this in mind, Tin Drum offers sit-down dining and takeout, with 60% of the business coming from lunch and 40% dinner. Tin Drum's customers are equally split between dine-in and takeout, with millennials representing the largest portion of guests at 40%.
