Values & History
Founded in 2008 by mom of two and special needs advocate, Susan Caldwell, Flour Power arose from the realization that kids needed a fun way to learn about cooking in order to positively impact their overall fitness. After losing 150 pounds and becoming a Certified Personal Trainer, Susan began a youth fitness program that also included teaching children the basics of cooking. She quickly learned that the more hands-on children were in the process of cooking their food, the smarter they were about their food choices. From there, Flour Power was born!
Teaching children to cook teaches so much more than just cooking skills. It teaches math, science, reading and so much more. Flour Power is about empowering kids to take charge of their eating habits and bringing them fun learning experiences in the process.
Industry Performance
There are 15 Flour Power Studios currently located in 7 different states. Our fun and hands-on approach to cooking for kids is a unique entertainment venture, and this makes us a top choice by kids and parents when booking a party or just looking for something fun to do in their free time. With more and more parents searching for learning experiences for their children that don't involve time in front of a screen, Flour Power offers them a sound alternative.
Training & Support
Training begins day one! We have a proven "Stages and Phases" program that begins as soon as you sign a franchise agreement. As you approach opening, we will schedule you to come to Raleigh, NC for our 40-hour hands-on training program to get you started with "real world experience" before your new studio opens. We'll cover the franchise manual, you'll get hands on experience in a studio with children, you'll meet our staff, and you'll learn from our founder Susan Caldwell and her executive team who have worked with Flour Power for many years. All of this is followed by ongoing training and support and weekly webinars with our Business Manager for months after opening. The learning never ends!
