Values & History
Founded in 1991, CertaPro Painters has offered franchise opportunities since 1992, operating from their home office located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At CertaPro, we paint lives, not houses. Taking the residential painting industry to the next level by treating our client's property as if it were our own, CertaPro refreshes and renews living spaces that our customers can be proud to call home. With years of experience, CertaPro painters now operate in more than 300 locations across the US.
Industry Performance
Contract painting services in the US topped $41 billion in total revenue over 2019, growing an average of 3.0% annually over the 2014-2019 period. With more than 300,000 businesses in operation, the industry employs nearly 500,000 people, with most of those organizations on the smaller side. This presents a fantastic opportunity for nationally branded and recognized companies to capitalize on the growing market. In 2023, 42% of franchisee revenues came from commercial business. You won’t find this with competitors, and this is important for your clients as it allows them to grow quickly and build a large business.
Training & Support
The CertaPro training program takes place in Audubon, Pennsylvania, typically, but it can also take place on-site at the franchise owner's location, by request. New CertaPro owners must attend and complete three sections of Development Owner classes, featuring four weeks of instructor-led virtual classroom training and a week of live classroom training, with additional exercises assigned to be completed on the franchise owner's own time. Additional training and support in the form of an annual Development Owner Summit, 30-minute training calls, and more are also provided.
Ideal Candidate & Qualifications
Prospective franchise owners should be prepared to commit to full-time engagement as they manage their business, and value service excellence above all else. Ideal candidates will be positive, hardworking, hands-on individuals hungry to meet with business success. Personal freedom and a solid work/life balance are important to our franchise owners, and motivation towards continuous business growth is essential. Business management, leadership, and relationship-building skills are all highly valued qualities.
