We do our best to keep our North Texas and Oklahoma entrepreneurial friends up to date, with news you can use – but we also have an eye on updates that affect current small business owners. In this edition of the FranNet of DFW & Oklahoma weekly blog, we have some helpful links and resources for small business owners in Tarrant County (Fort Worth). This is information on a business relief funding program tied to the ongoing pandemic. Of all the areas we cover in North Texas and Oklahoma, this appears to be the only active grant program that’s still active on the city/county level.
If you’re a Tarrant County small business owner, we encourage you to investigate your options to find out if you qualify for funding assistance. Keep in mind that this program began accepting applications for assistance on July 11, but the deadline for applying for assistance is Aug. 31, 2022 (just one month left!)
Fort Worth – Tarrant County
There are some resources available for small business owners recovering from the effects of the pandemic. The Tarrant County Small Business Workforce Recovery Grant program is still accepting applications for financial assistance, provided certain requirements are met.
Eligibility:
- Must qualify as an Impacted Industry as defined by the U.S. Treasury and adopted by Commissioners Court
- Must be physically located and operating in Tarrant County since Jan. 1, 2020
- Must have had 50 or fewer employees as reported on 1st Quarter 2020 Form 941
- Owners of multiple businesses are only eligible to apply for ONE business. All owners must be disclosed within the application
- Grant amounts up to $27,500 for qualifying non-profit and for-profit businesses
- Deadline to apply Aug. 31, 2022 at 5 p.m. or until funds are depleted

Though this blog update covers the one active funding assistance program in our area that’s operated at the city and/or county level, the SBA is still offering funds and debt relief programs. The SBA’s Restaurant Revitalization Fund and the SBA Debt Relief programs are still active and accepting applications. You can read about both of these options by following this link.
