Recently, I was playing Jenga with my granddaughter and suddenly realized… this game looked a lot like my week.
In just a few days, life kept pulling blocks from the same tower.
EMS came to our house.
Our son ended up in the hospital.
Another son was facing some heartbreaking life circumstances.
At the same time, life was also giving us reasons to celebrate.
My husband and I celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary.
Another son had a birthday.
My granddaughter graduated from kindergarten.
Funny how life works that way. Joy and heartbreak often show up together.
There was a time when a week like that would have completely overwhelmed me. Now I’ve learned something different.
You don’t stare at the whole tower and panic. You steady it by handling the next block in front of you.
Go to the hospital. Encourage your son. Take a breath. Pray. Repeat.
I see this same pattern among people navigating career transitions, exploring business ownership, and making big life decisions.
What if I choose wrong? What if I fail? What if I regret it?
But clarity rarely comes from solving your whole future at once.
It usually comes from taking the next right step and trusting the process.
If your tower feels a little wobbly right now, you’re not alone.
Most of us are balancing more than we show.
Give yourself permission to focus on what’s directly in front of you.
Progress doesn’t have to be dramatic to be meaningful.
Sometimes steady is strong.
