There’s a positive outlook among business leaders in the Garden State. The 59th Annual Business Outlook Survey, conducted at the end of 2017 by the New Jersey Business & Industry Association, says that NJBIA members believe that sales, business profits, and hiring are on their way up.
One of the most telling indicators of satisfaction in the NJBIA survey is that 45% of participants believe that New Jersey’s public school system is superior to those of other states. That’s backed up by US News & World Report’s ranking—the publication puts New Jersey second in education. Overall educational attainment is higher than in most other states. All that adds up to a well-prepared, educated workforce.
The quality of life in New Jersey is high, and crime is low. This is good for business and for everyday life. It also contributes to tourism; many businesses benefit from the money spent by visitors each year (around $44 billion in 2016).
